Elementary Music: Ages 6-9

Service Description

Entry level general music classes for children ages 6 – 9. No previous music experience required. Appropriate for children who are already in music lessons. The content of this class will make them better musicians and will make lessons more gratifying. Learn how to read and write music through a variety of activities like singing, playing instruments, movement, games, and fun! At AerFire, we build a solid music theory foundation using the wisdom of the time-tested music education methods of Suzuki, Kodaly, Orff, and Dalcroze. We utilize children’s natural ability to memorize and learn through song, fun, and play. Then we show children how they can relate their new knowledge across instruments and life. We teach children that music notation is a language that they can learn and use! The songs in their heart can go on a page to be shared! Classes will be divided by age (If you have a 9 year old, they can go in either class. We are happy to discuss factors that effect placement with you). All ages will meet at the same time, so the whole family can come at once. We will begin in an opening circle altogether, then break off into 2 classes. The younger group is taught by Maggie Kalm. The older group is taught by Paula Van Kuren. We are so excited to grow a music program at AerFire!!! As we grow, the music program will adapt into advancing levels to meet the student’s needs. We will always strive to keep the schedule and budget accessible to as many families as possible! Family Pricing as follows: 1 child = $150 2 children = $265 3 children = $375 4 children = $485 ***Note: AerFire is changing our pricing structure this summer/fall. Music will be included, along with aerial and dance (theater is coming too). There will be a membership fee, and then each class will be added on. This structure makes it possible to make deeper discounts the more children and activities a family needs. We are working to build a long-lasting program that meets wholistic performing arts needs, while also remaining affordable and realistic for real family schedules.
